Kranevo

Kranevo

Кранево Tavern was named after the name of the village within which it is located. Kranevo is a Black Sea pearl, comfortably sheltered in the bay between Golden Sands and Albena resorts, 25 km north of Varna. The wide sandy beache, clean sea, slopping sea bottom and curative mineral water makes it a prime destination for summer holidays or just for weekends.

History: The name of Kranevo comes from an ancient Roman stronghold, known as Ekrene or the port of Kraneia. Traces of the Roman fortress inhabited in the Middle Ages, have been found on the southern plateaus above the village.

Sightseeing: Aladzha rock monastery is located relatively close to Kranevo. In the opposite direction there is the town of Balchik with its beautiful palace and Botanic Garden.
